What We Do
Year round, YWAM New Orleans is committed to faithfully serving our community. We aim to represent Jesus in each area that we influence. Below are brief snapshots of what we do.
Missions Teams. Year round we host a variety of different missions teams on short term outreaches. From church groups to other YWAM teams, we love to partner with those who have a heart to make God known in the city of New Orleans. Community Development. We are located on the West bank in Algiers, one of New Orleans’ oldest neighborhoods. Through service projects, bible distribution and door to door evangelism, we are able to build long term relationships in order to reflect Jesus in our community.
Fischer Housing Projects. We are very active in the lives of the children in the government housing projects next door to us. For 30 years, YWAM Nola has been running “Kid’s Club” right in the center of their housing project at their playground. At Kid’s Club, we play games, make crafts, tell bible stories, and spend time with the children.
Pregnancy Care Center. Started in 1983, The Pregnancy Care Center was created as an answer to abortion in New Orleans, a way to celebrate and protect the lives of the unborn and their parents. At our clinic, women can get free pregnancy testing, free ultrasounds, get connected with adoption services, and receive free baby clothes, diapers and other necessities. Many precious little lives have been saved thus far, and we have many faithful volunteers and ultrasound techs who serve there.
The Mission. We partner with The Mission, a faith-based service provider to the homeless population in New Orleans. There, we go on evangelistic outreaches to bless the men and women we meet with food, companionship and prayer!
